iTAC signs Frame Agreement with the Electronics Division of Johnson Controls Automotive Experience

The iTAC.MES.Suite® is being deployed to support Johnson Controls Automotive Experience Electronics Division in the production of their Electronic Products assisting them in meeting the high demands for Product quality and safety.

(PresseBox) (Dernbach, )
Dernbach, September 01 2009 – iTAC Software AG, a leading provider of Standardized Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for discrete production has secured another Tier 1 Customer in the Automotive industry - the Electronics Division of Johnson Controls. As one of the leading developers and manufacturers of electronics solutions for Driver Information systems, Infotainment, Connectivity and Telematics, Body Electronics and the integrated Garage door opener HomeLink® for the Automotive industry, Johnson Controls utilizes the new Software for Quality Assurance as well as ensuring conformity in its Production.

Following an intensive evaluation process assessing multiple MES providers in the international marketplace, Johnson Controls selected iTAC Software AG from Germany, signing a frame agreement. The Roll-out is already well underway across multiple sites and continents.

The implementation of the iTAC.MES.Suite covers the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) as well as the Testing and Assembly lines. Fundamental to the deployment is the integration / interlocking of almost all production steps, as well as integration to the existing ERP solution, QAD’s MFG/Pro®. Through the bidirectional communication with production and test equipment, complete Transparency from the production of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) and Assemblies, down to the Material-lots all the way through Final Assembly is guaranteed. Moreover the iTAC.MES.Suite delivers control and reporting functionality in real-time which supports Quality Management and Continuous Improvement as well as allowing for end to end Traceability.

In the decision-making process, iTAC stood out with its significant market share amongst Automotive Electronics Suppliers and the overall functionality of the Software. Of particular importance was the capability for Process Interlocking, which facilitates the recognition of Production Non Conformance as it occurs - immediately prohibiting the further processing of faulty semi finished products. In this way the iTAC.MES.Suite ensures Johnson Controls’ 0-PPM Strategy, which in turn ensures that all products shipped are manufactured and tested in conformance with specifications.
