In addition to being an exhibitor at the conference (booth no. 9), iTAC is also presenting a paper on the "Nord Stream AG Baltic Sea Pipeline” case study. The Pipeline Technology Conference, which was initiated at the HANOVER MESSE 2006, will be opening its doors this year on the 4 and 5 April. It is an international forum attended by the industry’s key players. In addition to the exhibition, over 60 speakers will be presenting new technologies and current case studies on the planning, construction and maintenance of offshore and onshore pipelines.
Mastering giant pipeline projects with MES
iTAC Software AG is also on the conference agenda. Andreas Rudl will be presenting a paper entitled “Pipe Tracking Systems – Logistical Challenges of Large-scale Projects”. It focuses on the Baltic Sea Pipeline project implemented by Nord Stream AG in 2010. The 1,224 km pipeline links the world’s largest natural gas deposits in Russia with the European gas pipeline network.
This complex logistics project was supported by the standardised and platform-independent iTAC.MES.Suite. The manufacturing execution system provides a special pipe tracking function which enables zero-defect material supply as the system’s consistent monitoring facilitates a high level of transparency throughout the entire production and logistics chain.
