Thomas Group introduces VAT-ID check from ISO Professional Services

Since the tightening of the EU guidelines for the VAT-ID check, many companies have decided to optimize and automate the mostly manual process of this check. Due to this decision, the automotive supplier Thomas Group came across ISO Professional Services when searching for a suitable provider.

The Marlin VAT-ID Check tool is a completely SAP-integrated add-on that supports SAP users in maintaining and creating master data as well as in goods movements by automatically checking the VAT-ID. Mass data can also be checked in this manner in a single operation. For this purpose, various company-specific settings can be made in the configuration. For example, it is possible to select which processes are to be checked. In addition, automatic locks and notifications can be configured in the event of a negative check. Audit-compliant documents provide clean documentation for the tax office.

It was particularly important to the Rhineland Palatinate-based company Thomas Group that the solution be installed as quickly as possible so that it could start directly with the more efficient and effective process. "Instead of the usual four weeks, the project work on our part was to be completed within just two weeks, and we managed that," reports Marc Gottschling, SAP Consultant, ISO Professional Services. Currently, the software is in the test phase at the customer and will go live soon.
