Newest innovations in automotive suspension systems as pressures on new cars to lower fuel consumption increase

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
Manufacturers are under pressure to come up with innovative solutions to achieve related objectives for climate protection. Important market drivers include reduction of vehicle weight, fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Such issues are not only important on a macro, but also on a micro level and are subsequently crucial in the development of new suspension systems. These new requirements are posing huge challenge to automobile designers on suspension design in view of multiple control parameters, complex objectives and stochastic disturbances.

This March, experts from the automotive industry will gather at IQPC’s 4th International Conference Advanced Suspension Systems in Düsseldorf, Germany to participate in an open and informal forum to discuss major technical challenges and industry trends on new developments within suspension systems development.

Koen Reybrouck, Managing Director of Reycon b.v.b.a in Belgium, will open the forum addressing the key trends in the automotive market and advanced suspension systems in particular pushing for CO2 emission reductions and its impact on suspension system technology and the suspension supplier industry.

He will be joined by Matthew Taylor from Prodrive, Dr. Marcus Jautze from BMW AG, Philippe Boitard from Volvo 3P, Stefan van Raemdonck from Tenneco Automotive Europe and other automotive experts globally. Presentations will include;

• The Influence of Carbon Emissions Targets on Suspension Systems
• Innovative suspension concepts
• Use of Taper-Wire Springs in Suspension Systems
• Integrating suspension systems into the chassis
• Active suspension systems: Vehicle performance enhancement by adaptive control of mechatronic suspension systems
• Suspension systems for off-road vehicles
• Suspension specifications for vehicle agility in construction applications

And many other case studies will be discussed at the forum. Full agenda of the 2-day event can be viewed here http://www.suspension-congress.com/...
