Grid Integration of Offshore Wind Energy

Berlin, (PresseBox) - Berlin, November 27, 2012 - Advancing the offshore grids and integrating wind energy is of central importance to the success of renewable energies and the 2020 targets. Our international conference Grid Integration of Offshore Wind Energy 10 - 12 December, 2012 in Hamburg, Germany will focus on these practical issues and present new technologies for offshore transmission of wind energy.

The ambitious plans for the European Supergrid result in numerous practical challenges regarding their realisation. What are the specific challenges of grid code requirements and how can HVCD be an innovative solution for advancing offshore wind parks? Conference attendees will benefit from following central topics:

• Update on next steps and further plans for advancing offshore grids in Europe
• Practical challenges from case studies of HVDC projects in offshore environments
• Consider different points of view on grid code requirements and discuss them with our expert speakers
• Innovative solutions and technology gaps for HVDC wind integration
• See how to best design and operate clusters of wind farms for offshore wind integration
Participants will benefit from expert information that these companies offer: TenneT Offshore GmbH, RWE Innogy GmbH, REpower Systems AG, Siemens Wind Power A/S, Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, Statoil ASA and many more.
For a in-depth insight into specialized topics, conference participants can choose from four different interactive workshops.
