Proactive security: Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity showcases at RSA 2017 solutions for secure Internet of Things

(PresseBox) (Leipzig, )
A shift of paradigm in IT security is becoming more and more crucial to enable scalability in future Internet of Things infrastructures. At RSA Conference 2017 in San Francisco, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity showcases its embedded protocol and application classification solutions. These solutions promote a shift from a traditional, reactive blacklisting of known signatures to a highly pro-active whitelisting approach.

According to a GlobalData survey, many enterprises abstain from using IoT because of security concerns. Sometimes, their worries even intensified after the enterprises started working with IoT. There is no doubt that with the growing number of connected devices, including machines and sensors, IT security issues are destined to further increase.

The Internet of Things requires both a highly scalable and secure network infrastructure. Without adequate security, IoT will create new security risks to deployed workflows that nobody is willing to accept. Thus, proactive security architectures are becoming a central enabler of IoT in general.

Embedded multi-layer deep packet inspection (DPI) is an important cornerstone in assuring connectivity and security across networks, devices and applications in this new world.

High performing DPI with a low memory footprint enables security within networks from the start. By embedding protocol and application classification into core network infrastructure components such as firewalls, gateways and routers, DPI allows network equipment not only to detect applications within network traffic but also to semantically understand communication protocols in order to detect behavioral anomalies and hacking attempts. Furthermore, it can deliver realtime insights for both, physical and virtualized (including SDN driven) networks.

At RSA Conference 2017 in San Francisco, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity exhibits its network analytics solutions, including the DPI-based software library R&S®PACE 2. Deploying R&S®PACE 2 across the network ensures a more secure, flexible future network that enterprises can rely on.

Moreover, Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity presents its latest proactive security products for web application security and vulnerability management as well as new versions of its solution for secure browsing and secure app execution, Browser in the Box. Furthermore, the company will show its exploit-aware secure mobile platform, BizzTrust. Additionally, the leading IT security vendor displays its new firewall portfolio, including the Extended and Specialized Line that are empowered by the DPI engine R&S®PACE 2.

Meet Ammar Alkassar, CEO of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity as well as Peter Rost, Director Business Development, at booth North Expo #N3925, to discuss the paradigm shift and next-generation cybersecurity strategies for future networks. To schedule an appointment at the booth, please contact: Heike Masurek, +49 151 40650545, heike.masurek@rohde-schwarz.com.
