Before joining iPass, Hulse was executive vice president, worldwide field operations, for Tumbleweed Communications, a leader in secure Internet communication solutions with more than 4,000 worldwide enterprise customers. At Tumbleweed he was instrumental in growing its customer base by expanding into new vertical and market segments and developing new international territories.
Prior to Tumbleweed, Hulse was responsible for leading and integrating the Exchange Hosted Services (EHS) sales organization at Microsoft. Prior to Microsoft, Hulse was senior vice president of sales for FrontBridge Technologies, a managed messaging services company which was sold to Microsoft in 2005 for more than $200 million. Under Hulse's leadership, the company grew to more than 5,000 customers in 36 months, with revenues in excess of $75 million.

Earlier in his career, Hulse also served as general manager/senior vice president, North America for Cybertek Holdings, a Korean-based provider of security, authentication and intrusion-detection products; vice president of marketing, products and channel sales at Epoch Internet, one of the largest, privately-held ISPs at the time; and has held executive positions with ARIS Corporation, an e-business consulting company, and New Horizons Computer Learning Centers.
