ISL is project partner of the multimodal logistics complex in Ust-Luga

(PresseBox) (Bremen, )
Recently, the ISL is involved in a project to the planning work for the "Ust-Luga Multimodal Complex" in Russia. The multimodal logistics area is designed to become a transport-logistics hub in close distance to the trade and export port of Ust-Luga at the Baltic Sea near St. Petersburg and the Russian-Estonian border. Its attractive location at the junction of the Pan-European transport corridor IX and the Euro-Asian transport corridor "Transsib" with direct access to the seaport as well as the railway and the highway is one of the prerequisites for the development of a major international logistics hub.

The project is divided into different sectors such as the development of an industrial and logistics zone, the construction of a cargo airport as well as the connection of a business park, a residential area and recreation area. The ISL is especially involved in the conception of the international industrial and logistics center and supports the project consortium under Russian leadership with its experience in the configuration of regional networks, the integration of intermodal transports and the design of sustainable business models for logistic networks and supply chains.
