2nd European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics 2009 in Venedig

Die 2. Europäische Konferenz zum Thema IuK-Technologien in der Transportlogistik - ECITL'09 findet vom 29. bis 30. Oktober 2009 auf der Insel San Servolo, Venedig statt.

Die Konferenz wird von mehreren EU-geförderten Projekten organisiert, die sich mit der Lösung zukunftsweisender Herausforderungen im Bereich der Transportlogistik befassen. Ein Fokus der ECITL'09 wird auf der Steigerung von Effizienz und Nachhaltigkeit der Transportabläufe liegen. Die ausgewählten Themen und Fragestellungen sind für alle Akteure innerhalb der Supply Chains von Interesse.

Das ISL, Koordinator des EU-geförderten Projektes INTEGRITY - "Intermodal Global Door-to-Door Container Supply Chain Visibility", wird in Venedig einen Workshop zum Thema "Security" organisieren. An der Konferenzorganisation beteiligt sind außerdem die EU-Projekte EURIDICE, FREIGHTWISE, SmartCM und Smartfreight.

Auf der ECITL'09 haben sich ausgewiesene Experten angekündigt. Erwartet werden unter anderem:

Thomas Gulledge, Professor Emeritus, George Mason University, USA
- Experte auf dem Gebiet des Supply Chain Management
ein Repräsentant der Europäischen Kommission
- Hervorhebung des EU-Interesses an den Konferenzthemen
Peter Sonnabend, Senior Project Manager, Deutsche Post (DPDHL)
- Beleuchtung der Konferenzthemen aus Anwendersicht Fachleute aus Industrie und Forschung moderieren und referieren die zum Teil parallel stattfindenden Workshopthemen, die auf die aktuellen Anforderungen der Industrie im Bezug auf Transportlogistik und Supply Chain Management zugeschnitten sind.

Vor mehr als 50 Jahren wurde das Institut für Seeverkehrswirtschaft und Logistik (ISL) in Bremen gegründet.
