Ingram Micro EMEA receives three regional 'Distributor of the Year' awards at the DISTREE XXL event

(PresseBox) (Brussels, ) Ingram Micro EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), a division of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the largest global wholesale provider of technology products and supply chain management services, today announced it has won three awards at the DISTREE XXL event.

The 'EMEA Channel Academy: 2011 Awards' took place in Monaco earlier this month in association with DISTREE XXL - one of the region's premier channel events. Vendor executives with EMEA channel responsibility voted live for nine regional distributor categories.

The 'Southern Europe Distributor of the Year' award listed Computer Gross, Databox Informatica, Esprinet, Ingram Micro and Tech Data as the five nominated companies. With 42% of the votes, Ingram Micro claimed the title and its first award of the evening.

The 'Dach Distributor of the Year' award saw Actebis, Also, Ingram Micro, Tech Data and Wortmann go head-to-head in the final five. Ingram Micro won the 2011 award with an impressive 48% of the vendor vote.

The final award for 'UK & Ireland Distributor of the Year' saw Computer 2000, EntaTech, Ingram Micro, Micro-P and VIP Computer Centre all receive official nominations. Ingram Micro picked up the coveted prize, claiming its third distributor award of the evening.

Alain Maquet, President Ingram Micro EMEA, said: 'We are delighted to be recognized as a valued partner to our vendors. The three awards underscore the win-win relationships we have built with our vendor partners. This illustrates the strength of Ingram Micro's regional results and the partnership engagement with our valued vendor community across EMEA.'

"We want to congratulate all of this year's distributor winners," said Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, the organizers of the awards. "Making it to the final five nominees is an achievement in itself, based on a poll of hundreds of vendors in the run-up to the ceremony."

"These awards also showcased the continued diversity that exists in the EMEA distribution channel," added Hemraj "The relationship between vendors and distributors is more important than ever as channel models evolve and the services offered expand and deepen."
