The 'EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards' took place in Monaco earlier this month in association with DISTREE EMEA - one of the region's premier channel events. Vendor executives with EMEA channel responsibility voted live across ten regional distributor categories.
The 'France & Benelux Distributor of the Year' award listed Banque Magnetique, Comtrade, Copaco, Ingram Micro and Tech Data as the five nominated companies. With the highest percentage of the electronic vote, Ingram Micro claimed the title.
The 'DACH Distributor of the Year' award saw Also-Actebis, Devil, Ingram Micro, Tech Data and Wave go head-to-head in the final five. Ingram Micro emerged victorious during the final vote to win the 2012 award.
The final award for 'UK & Ireland Distributor of the Year' saw Computer 2000, Entatech, Micro-P and Westcoast all receive official nominations. Ingram Micro picked up the coveted prize, claiming its third distributor award of the evening.
Alain Maquet, President Ingram Micro EMEA, said: 'We are very pleased with the recognition from the vendor community we receive year after year here at the DISTREE EMEA event. The three awards strengthen our belief that we are delivering value to our vendors and resellers today, tomorrow and for the long term.'
Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, organiser of the 'EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards': "The regional distributor award winners were selected through a live electronic vote carried out by senior vendor executives with EMEA-level channel responsibility and regional knowledge. All distributors that received official nominations should be proud of their achievements." "We would like to congratulate Ingram Micro on their success in the UK & Ireland; France & Benelux, and DACH Distributor of the Year categories at the 'EMEA Channel Academy: 2012 Awards'. These awards recognise excellence in distribution across EMEA. The open and transparent voting process used means that recipients of these awards can be justifiably proud of their achievements."
