Ernesto Schmutter takes operational lead of Ingram Micro EMEA Division "Data Capture and Point-of-Sales"

As of March 1st 2011, Senior Director Ernesto Schmutter will be responsible for the operational DC/POS business of Ingram Micro in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In his new position he will be reporting to Gerhard Schulz, Senior Vice President Central and Eastern European Region, Pan Euro & DC/POS.

Ernesto Schmutter (45) has been with Ingram Micro in Germany since 1995, holding a variety of high-level management positions in Product Management, Sales and Marketing. On top of that he was actively involved in additional company-wide strategic projects. Before joining Ingram Micro he worked in purchasing and marketing for a direct merchant company named Micro Warehouse. Ernesto holds a masters degree in philology and marketing. "With Ernesto we have an experienced manager with an outstanding market reputation to run this growing and future-oriented business. I congratulate him on his new position and thank his successful predecessor Jan Gulbrandsen who will be pursuing new career challenges outside of Ingram Micro. The Ingram Micro DC/POS Division is a leading worldwide supplier of enterprise mobility products including ruggedized mobile computers, enterprise mobile computers, wireless networking equipment, barcode scanners, label printers, mobile printers and RFID systems. Also part of the portfolio are data capture products for barcode/RFID scanning, truck terminals, wireless infrastructure and mobile PCs/terminals for field service, healthcare, warehouse applications, transport & logistics.
