ViPNet technology opens up new markets in the Linux field

Infotecs signs distribution contract with channel partner LxPN

(PresseBox) (Berlin, ) Berlin-based IT security expert Infotecs GmbH signed a distribution agreement with LxPN Distributions GmbH, the specialist wholesaler of Linux products and services. The Value-Added Distributor is adding the IT security solution ViPNet OFFICE in its portfolio and distributes the VPN technology in German-speaking Europe.

This summer the Infotecs GmbH, the international supplier of IT security solutions, sealed cooperation with wholesaler LxPN Distributions GmbH. The Value-Added Distributor (VAD) LxPN supports system vendors and retailers in the selection and compilation of the product mix for complex Linux and software projects. As of now the certified VPN solution ViPNet OFFICE complements the portfolio of the new channel distribution partner. ViPNet OFFICE is software-based and allows access to corporate data anytime and anywhere. The Infotecs GmbH guarantees full connectivity and security for communications between location-based and mobile users as well as between different branches and offices. The new partner LxPN will distribute the ViPNet technology to resellers and system providers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

"In the past, the requirements for encryption and security technologies increased," comments Jens Münker, CEO of LxPN Distributions GmbH. "With ViPNet technology we can offer our partners a specialized and flexible security solution." The VPN solution fits particularly well in the portfolio of the software distributor, because the ViPNet technology is a product which is purely composed of software modules.

LxPN in turn has excellent know-how and many years of experience in the field of open source software, especially for the Linux operating system. Sergei Torgow, managing director of Infotecs Internet Security Software GmbH in Germany, is very pleased to cooperate with the new VAD: "From the support of various operating systems over traditional virtual appliances to specialized embedded systems based on Linux - ViPNet OFFICE allows very flexible scenarios to build a VPN, whether it comes to SMBs or industries. Through the support of LxPN we can expand this competitive advantage and open up new markets."

About LxPN

The LxPN Distributions GmbH was founded in February 2003 and is a spin-off of the LinuxLand International. LinuxLand has sold products for Linux to both end users as well as to resellers since 1996. The acquisition of the business unit distribution, i.e. the supply of retailers with Linux products, meant for LxPN the start of sales of products and services from more than 50 manufacturers to a trade pool of more than 5.000 resellers. The focus on selected system house partners in the enterprise environment results in the continuously adaption of the product portfolio to the needs of its partners. Today the Value-Added Distributor has about 15 manufacturers in its portfolio. For more information visit the website
