„Gerade aus Sicht der saarländischen Wirtschaft kommt es jetzt darauf an, dass sich die EU mit Großbritannien auf einen geordneten Brexit verständigt. Wir brauchen klare Verhältnisse. Anhaltende Unsicherheit fügte vor allem unserer Industrie weiteren Schaden zu. Seit dem Referendum Mitte 2016 sind die saarländischen Exporte nach Großbritannien bereits um ein Drittel gesunken. Nur eine rasche Einigung auf ein Abkommen schafft Planungssicherheit für die Unternehmen und die Voraussetzungen dafür, dass der vorhandene Investitionsstau in Großbritannien und hierzulande aufgelöst werden kann.“
