TanQuid terminal in Poland communicates with Shell's SAP system

Implico automates the delivery of shipping data

(PresseBox) (Hamburg, )
Since the beginning of this year, the TanQuid tank terminal in Poland has automatically sent all data for its shipments for Shell directly to the Shell back office. To make this possible, consulting and software company Implico integrated its OpenTAS terminal management and automation system into Shell's SAP system.

Thanks to a major project in which international oil company Shell linked a number of terminals in six Eastern European countries to the company's CEE (Central Eastern Europe) back office, these terminals have been sending their shipping data to Shell's SAP system completely automatically via BizTalk middleware since 1 January 2011. The previous error-prone transmission of these data by fax and phone is now a thing of the past.

This important project for Shell also had an impact on the TanQuid Polska Sp.z.o.o. terminal owned by TanQuid GmbH & Co. KG, Duisburg. This terminal, with 24 tanks and a total capacity of 136,550 m³, has been using OpenTAS to automate the administration of its loading and shipping processes since 2001. The data for Shell shipments are now sent from OpenTAS to GSAP, Shell's SAP system, by sFTP (secure File Transfer Protocol). It provides information on all of the terminal's business processes: the replenishment of service stations in Poland, deliveries to industrial customers in Poland and exports from Poland to Slovakia to supply service stations in that country. The data are sent as XML with iDoc type content.
