Umweltfreundliche Stromerzeugung auf Rekord-Hoch

55,8% Strom aus erneuerbaren Energien

Gute Nachrichten im Bereich Umwelt und Stromversorgung: der Anteil an erneuerbaren Energien stieg im ersten Halbjahr 2020 auf 55,8 %. Die Winkraft kam dabei auf einen Wert von mehr als 30%, die Photovoltaik auf 11,4 %. Kohlekraftwerke hingegen befinden sich aktuell auf dem absteigenden Ast.

Zwischen April und Juni liefen Photovoltaikanlagen auf Hochtouren und erzeugten so mehr als 6 Terawattstunden Solarstrom.

Der prozentuale Anstieg von erneuerbaren Energien im Vergleich zum ersten Halbjahr 2019 beträgt 47 Prozent. Der starke Anstieg ergibt sich dabei aus der gesunkenen Stromnachfrage von Industrie und Gewerbe bedingt durch die Corona-Pandemie.

Braunkohlekraftwerke produzierten ca. 33,6 Terawattstunden, 19,1 Terawattstunden weniger als im ersten Halbjahr 2019. Gründe hierfür sind unter anderem die steigenden Kosten für CO2-Zertifikate. Setzt sich dieser Trend fort, ist die Wirtschaftlichkeit von Kohlekraftwerken vermutlich nicht mehr gegeben.
