Das mittelfränkische Unternehmen Alfatec GmbH & Co. KG in Rednitzhembach produziert seit Juli 2021 seinen eigenen Strom. Die Firma Alfatec ist ein Produktspezialist für Elektronikentwickler. Verbaut wurden insgesamt 194 SunPower Module mit einer Leistung von je 415 Wp. Dies führt zu einer 80,945 kWp großen Photovoltaikanlage, die somit bis zu ca. 70.000 kWh/a produzieren kann. Bei der Auswahl des Modulherstellers setzte das Unternehmen auf spitzen Qualität mit dem US-amerikanischen Hersteller SunPower, der derzeit die besten Module auf dem Markt anbietet. Außerdem hat sich das Unternehmen dafür entschieden noch zwei Tesla Speicher mit einer Leistung von je 13,5 kWh zu installieren und somit den eigens produzierten Strom auch nachts nutzen zu können. Das Unternehmen reduziert somit den eigenen CO2-Fußabdruck und trägt zum Umstieg auf erneuerbare Energien bei.
