IHSE releases new extenders for 4K/UHD video

(PresseBox) (Oberteuringen, )
IHSE has launched new Dual Link and DisplayPort KVM extenders for 4K video. The new models support the transmission of video resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 over a single Cat X or fiber cable and include high-spec digital audio, RS232 and USB-HID extension for interactive applications requiring a feedback channel.

New Draco vario Dual Link and DisplayPort extenders enable the transmission of 4K video to one single monitor at up to 4096 x 2160 at 30 Hz and 2560 x 2048 at 60 Hz.

The extenders can be used in pairs to extend signal transmission to 140 m with Cat X cable or 10 km with fiber. They are compatible with all Draco tera KVM matrix switches allowing integrators to build extremely flexible video and data distribution networks with any number of connections up to 576 ports.

Enno Littmann, Managing Director said: "With the anticipated arrival of 4K displays in the professional AV market, these new extenders meet the need for robust, reliable signal extension at the highest level of audio and image quality. Their ability to interface with remote displays, user terminals and workstations incorporating USB-HID devices make them ideal for touchscreen, facial recognition, card-reading and gesture-controlled installations, no matter how far the display is located from the source and with no off-putting user delay."

To further ensure overall system integrity, all Draco extenders include redundancy options allowing a range of scenarios to be implemented to ensure system operation in the case of link failure.

The full range of IHSE KVM products, including the new bidirectional KVM extenders for high resolution video, will be available for demonstration at ISE in Amsterdam, February 10-12, 2015. Booth 10-R120.
