IHSE provides fully redundant KVM system architecture

(PresseBox) (Oberteuringen, )
IHSE GmbH, a worldwide leading manufacturer of advanced KVM products for the switching and extension of computer signals, introduces new variations of the successful KVM and Video extender range with redundant data links.

Redundancy in KVM extenders enables computer-to-workstation extender links in the event of failure of the primary transmission link to continue operating via the second link.

IHSE KVM extenders offer redundancy at the source (CPU) end, workstation (CON) end, or both. In the case of an interconnection failure the redundant link ensures continuous and uninterrupted communication between the CON Unit and CPU Unit: transmission faults are automatically detected and indicated. Data flow is instantly switched to the secondary transmission link.

Due to the compatibility with Draco KVM matrix switches the redundant data links can be used to set-up both the well-known semi-redundant matrix systems as well as - for the first time - fully-redundant configurations. Thus, a high level of system availability and resilience can be achieved.

Alternatively, the redundant data links can be used to expand the number of matrix ports with non-blocking access from 288 ports in one matrix to a minimum of 432 ports in two matrices.

All extenders of the Draco vario product family are immediately available with a redundant data option for both CPU Units and CON Units.

The full range of IHSE extenders, including the fully redundant KVM system architecture, will be available for demonstration at IBC in Amsterdam, 13-17 September 2013.
