Mit den Typen 1240RE und 5240RE umfasst die uEye RE Familie auch Varianten mit dem ½ Zoll 1,3 Megapixel Global Shutter CMOS Sensor der neuesten Generation. Dessen hohe Lichtempfindlichkeit und Farbtreue ermöglichen selbst bei schwierigen Umgebungsbedingungen noch sehr gute und kontrastreiche Bilder.
Alle 56 Modelle der uEye RE erfüllen die IP65- und IP67-Spezifikationen und sind damit konsequent für Anwendungen in der industriellen Fertigung oder für Einsätze im Außenbereich ausgelegt. Das sorgfältig abgedichtete Gehäuse und ein verschraubbarer Objektivtubus schützen die Präzisionselektronik vor Staub und Flüssigkeiten. Verschraubbar und dicht sind auch der Ethernet- bzw. der USB-Port sowie der Triggereingang und der Digitalausgang. Die digitalen I/O-Anschlüsse sind zudem optisch entkoppelt ausgeführt, was die Störfestigkeit der Kameras weiter erhöht.
Trotz des robusten Designs sind die uEye RE Modelle sehr kompakt gebaut. Das kleinste Modell misst ohne Objektiv nur 41 x 41 x 41 mm. An allen Seiten des Gehäuses finden sich M3 und M5 Gewinde und ermöglichen eine flexible Montage. Passend zu den Kameras sind schleppkettentaugliche Kabel mit IP65/67-Steckern erhältlich und - für die USB-Versionen - auch eigens auf die Ansprüche von Maschinen- und Anlagenbauern zugeschnittene USB-Kabel mit bis zu 10 m Länge.
Dank umfangreicher Softwareunterstützung gestaltet sich die Integration der Kameras in die eigene Applikation schnell und zeitsparend. Zum Lieferumfang gehören neben 32 und 64 Bit Versionen von Windows- und Linux-Treiber, einem Direct Show Interface und einer ActiveX-Komponente auch ein umfangreiches Software-Development-Kit. Das SDK ist über alle Kameramodelle identisch, d.h. ein Modellwechsel erfordert keine Neuprogrammierung.
