Die hohe Lesereichweite wird durch eine integrierte, gedruckte und umweltfreundliche Batterie erreicht, die eine dem Lebenszyklus vieler Behälter angepasste Lebensdauer von bis zu fünf Jahren hat.
Der Transponder entspricht dem Standard EPC Class 1 Gen 2, ISO 18000-6C und kann somit in üblichen passiven UHF-Systemen mit normalen Lesegeräten (Reader) eingesetzt werden. Das Gehäuse hat Schutzart IP 67 und widersteht Witterungseinwirkungen.
Falls erforderlich können durch den Kunden auf dem Transponder eigene Informationen hinterlegt werden. Dafür steht ein Speicherbereich von 720 Bit zur Verfügung. Zusätzlich gibt es 96 Bit EPC-Memory und eine 64 Bit lange, einmalige Transponderidentifikationsnummer (TID).
Der Transponder schlägt die Brücke zwischen passiver und aktiver RFID-Technik: in der Leistung aktiv und bei den Kosten passiv.
