Western European Document Scanner Market Increased in 3Q13, According to IDC

The distributed document scanner segment is the larger of the two main segments in Western Europe, with more than 97% share of the overall document scanner market. The segment increased by 31.2% year on year.
Production document scanners increased by 8.7% in 3Q year on year, with segment market share standing at a little more than 3%.
The top 5 vendors in Western Europe were Brother, Canon, Epson, Fujitsu, and HP, together accounting for 83.9% of the total document scanner shipment market.
- Document imaging scanners are used to convert a large volume of hardcopy documents to digital format. They have a minimum 15-sheet feed capability and produce a minimum of 8 pages per minute (ppm) and up to 250ppm.
