Der neue Mann im Channel-Team bei ISS kommt von der Nürnberger Funkwerk Enterprise Communications GmbH, die im Oktober 2004 aus der Fusion der Unternehmen artem und bintec Access Networks entstanden ist. Bei bintec sammelte Egon Kando bereits reichlich Erfahrung in Sachen Vertriebs- und Channel Management. Dort war der Diplom-Ingenieur mehrere Jahre tätig. Kando begann im Presales bei bintec und wechselte zwei Jahre darauf in den Vertrieb. Dort betreute er als Sales Manager die Regionen Süddeutschland, Österreich und Schweiz und zeichnete für den Aufbau des Partnerprogramms sowie für den Channel-Ausbau verantwortlich. Nach bintecs Zusammenschluss mit artem und der elmeg Communication Systems GmbH erweiterte Kando sein Know-how um die Bereiche WLAN und TK/IP-Telefonie.

Zusätzlich zu der personellen Aufstockung des Channel-Teams startet Internet Security Systems ein neues Partner-Programm, mit dem Ziel die Profitabilität der Partner zu stärken. Basis des neuen Channel Programms ist zum einen ein wesentlich ausgebauter Support für die Partner und zum anderen Zertifizierungen, anhand derer die Einstufungen in Platin-, Gold- und Silber-Partner vorgenommen wird. Durch diese Einstufungen sollen die Kunden leichter den idealen Implementierungspartner finden. Die Unterstützung von ISS reicht dabei vom technischen Support über Vertriebsunterstützung bis hin zur Unterstützung in Marketingfragen.
