Tyan Computer Corporation’s Personal Supercomputing Solutions to Become Intel Cluster Ready Certified Using Platform Open Cluster Stack
Personal supercomputing vendor joins Platform Computing in Intel cluster server program aimed at High Performance Computing business markets
Platform OCS is the first commercial software system used to create certified Intel Cluster Ready systems that enable the consistent delivery of scale-out application clusters. Tyan will be the first personal supercomputer vendor to become Intel Cluster-certified using Platform OCS, delivering the power and convenience of High Performance Computing (HPC) without the cost of a full-scale cluster solution.
TyanPSC personal super computing solutions provide science, research and development applications performance processing without the hassle of implementing large, full-scale clusters and supercomputers. TyanPSC cluster servers are designed for offices and laboratories; the quiet and power efficient desk-side personal clusters offer individuals and workgroups the HPC solutions they need for almost any application. Through Intel Cluster Ready, Tyan will be able to offer an even easier-to deploy cluster solution for end users in fields as diverse as science, engineering, defense and entertainment.
“By partnering with Platform Computing and Intel, Tyan solidifies its position as a key vendor in the personal supercomputing space,” said Michael Rex, Director of Marketing at Tyan Computer Corporation. “Platform OCS will assure application compatibility to our TyanPSC personal cluster for our customers while also providing a streamlined cluster solution, a huge help for first-time cluster users.”
Platform OCS democratizes and streamlines the process of implementing HPC solutions on Linux-based clusters. A pre-integrated, vendor certified software stack, Platform OCS enables a new class of HPC users by simplifying Linux cluster application, deployment and management. Backed by available, global, 24x7 enterprise support, Platform OCS is a modular and hybrid stack that transparently integrates open source and commercial software into a single, consistent cluster operating environment.
“Working with Tyan allows Platform Computing to extend the advantages of HPC to an entirely new market of non-savvy entry-level users,” said Simon Lonsdale, Director of Strategic Alliances, Platform Computing. “A partnership with Tyan Computer Corporation greatly enhances the growing personal supercomputing segment with a simpler and more affordable HPC solution.”
