Weka Verlag GmbH, Vienna (www.weka.at) the Austrian subsidiary the international specialized publishing group Weka has decided to implement the award winning web content management platform, eZ Publish, created by Norwegian software company eZ Systems (www.ez.no).
The Austrian agency Reichl & Partner and the Weka software engineers will implement the solution due in autumn 2010. In addition, Weka signed a corresponding agreement concerning training, maintenance and support with the German branch of eZ Systems in Dortmund. After finishing the first project stage, around 40 internal employees and external authors from Weka Austria will begin to work with eZ Publish.
"In spring 2009, we started the selection process to identify a new software solution that best met our needs" Weka project manager Christian Tatzber says. "After a proof of concept we finally decided on eZ Publish. The supporting arguments for eZ Publish were the wide range of functionalities the system brought straight outofthebox, its simple interface, workflow, support and the attractive cost structure."
Besides eZ Publish Premium Gold which includes broad maintenance and support services by eZ Systems, Weka Austria will also deploy further eZ Open Source extensions and modules within the first development stage such as: eZ Find, an Enterprise-Search-Plugin; eZ SI, enhancing the supporting performance via ESI-Technology (Edge Side Include) on high traffic; the collaboration solution eZ Teamroom and eZ Survey for managing market and audience surveys.
