thyssenkrupp Carbon Components erhält internationale Auszeichnung für Entwicklung und Fertigung von geflochtenen Carbonfelgen

Die Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) hat thyssenkrupp Carbon Components für die Entwicklung und Fertigung seiner geflochtenen und ultraleichten Carbonfelgen für die Automobilindustrie ausgezeichnet. Das speziell für die Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series entwickelte Produkt wurde in der Kategorie Strukturbauteile („structural components“) mit dem Award für die innovativste Kunstoffanwendung („most innovative use of plastics“) prämiert. Das Unternehmen setzt dabei eine einzigartige, hochautomatisierte Flechttechnologie ein und verarbeitet in Zuge dessen über 18 Kilometer Kohlenstofffaser pro Felge. Alle thyssenkrupp Carbonfelgen werden in Kesselsdorf bei Dresden entwickelt und, entsprechend höchster Qualitätsstandards, gefertigt.

Trotz der Pandemie stehen die Innovations- und Produktionsprozesse bei thyssenkrupp Carbon Components nicht still: Ab diesem Jahr werden Carbonfelgen auch für den Automotive Aftermarket mit ABE Zertifizierung erhältlich sein. Weitere neue Carbonprojekte stehen zudem vor der Markteinführung.

Geschäftsführer Dr. Jens Werner: „Innovation ist das Kerngeschäft unseres Unternehmens. Das war schon immer unser Ansatz und die Auszeichnung bestärkt uns darin, den eingeschlagenen Innovationspfad unermüdlich fortzusetzen.“
