Hess GmbH Licht + Form, an internationally leading manufacturer of designed outdoor luminaires and site furnishings headquartered in Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany), is taking part in the Ecobuild show in London for the first time from 3 to 5 March 2015. This annual exhibition is one of the world's biggest events in sustainable planning and construction as well as green design and energy. Hess will be on Stand S6030 in the South Hall to present its latest generation of energy-efficient LED luminaires and site furnishings for integrated design in urban spaces.

Sustainability is in the Hess genes

The innovative products and solution concepts fully reflect the company's motto "Hess - enhancing urban spaces". Made in the Black Forest, they are characterised by a successful blend of timeless design, traditional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art LED technology.

Hess was early to adopt energy efficiency as an integral part of its product development process and in 2003 became the world's first manufacturer to bring an LED outdoor luminaire successfully to market. Hess has thus played a pioneering role in sustainable, innovative exterior lighting right from the start.

The company's philosophy and products reflect the high standards of quality and environmental management expected in the modern built environment. Premium products by Hess meet the most stringent requirements placed on lighting and design and stand out for their superb workmanship, high-quality materials (the majority of which can be recycled), durability, reliability, and extended maintenance intervals.

The product lines that Hess is showing at Ecobuild give architects and planners a host of attractive design options in the form of very special products and solutions for creating very special urban spaces.

New and award-winning: DALVIK - LED design luminaires and site furnishings

The DALVIK product family expands the Hess portfolio with a completely new collection of LED design luminaires and site furnishings for integrated design concepts. Thanks to variable pole adapters for different pole diameters and variable fitting options, the DALVIK luminaire fulfils a range of lighting requirements.

Even before its market launch in January 2015, the DALVIK luminaire made quite an impression: it was announced a winner at the 2014 Iconic Awards and awarded the Baden-Württemberg "Focus Silver 2014"international design prize. The design luminaire is supplemented by matching aluminium benches with high-quality slats in PEFC-certified ash wood, for example. In the coming months, a successive expansion of the DALVIK family is planned, especially on the site furnishings side.

VAREDO - Mix and match as desired

In 2014, Hess created a generation of luminaires and site furnishings known as VAREDO that offer maximum freedom and flexibility when it comes to designing urban spaces. Landscape architects and planners benefit from the VAREDO family's unique design idiom, feel and finish. The VAREDO range comprises outdoor lighting, illuminating and barrier bollards, a bench in diverse variants, bicycle racks and waste receptacles.

CITY ELEMENTS - Multi-functionality at its best

The CITY ELEMENTS illuminating column offers far more than simply illumination. Featuring combinable elements, these multifunctional columns are available with the most innovative LED technology (XICATO inside) and offer diverse additional solutions for city-centre requirements. These include electricity and water supply, the installation of a camera for security areas, emergency call functions, attractive light projections, Christmas lighting or e-mobility functions.

AVANGARDO 2 - Predestined for integrated lighting concepts

These products for applications around the house are characterised by their lasting quality, durability, reliability and state-of-the-art LED technology. The luminaire families consist of several product groups, for example in-ground and wall luminaires or illuminating bollards with uniform design elements. With their timeless expression of design, the luminaires fit harmoniously into any ambience and are eye-catching in their own right.

Site furnishings - Design and function

Site furnishing products by Hess, such as the SERPO tree grate and the FANO tree guard, are designed with the toughest conditions in mind and at the same time fulfil the highest design requirements. The use of high-quality materials gives the products a unique finish.

Dedicated UK sales team

In addition to presenting high-quality product highlights, Ecobuild also provides an opportunity for Hess to unveil its new sales set-up for the UK market. Jim Ashley-Down, who took on responsibility for UK sales at the beginning of February 2015, and Key Account Manager Robyn Riley are looking forward to the show and to meeting a number of customers and leads. The team supports architects, planners and local authorities on implementing ambitious lighting and design concepts, including the customised special solutions for which Hess is renowned. Customers in the UK and major international architects and planning offices around London will benefit from the new team's high level of customer focus and responsiveness.
