Hess GmbH Licht + Form, an internationally leading manufacturer of designed outdoor luminaires and site furnishings based in Villingen-Schwenningen, invests continuously in the further development of its work procedures and processes and thus the quality of its products. The most recent successfully conducted maintenance audit, as per DIN EN ISO 9001 / 14001, confirms this clearly.
As a premium provider of holistic solutions for the design of urban spaces, Hess has always attached great importance to the unique design and high quality of its products - products "made in Germany". Here seamless, efficient, and sustainable processes form the basis for the high product quality typical for Hess. During the last 12 months, the sustainable development of the work procedures and processes was intensively worked on - with demonstrable success.
In October the maintenance audit, as per DIN EN ISO 9001 / 14001, was successfully passed - and that without any objections. Frank Paliege, among others responsible for the quality management at Hess, is particularly proud: "We were able to gradually further develop and improve our company's internal procedures in terms of an operation optimisation system. In this way, we continue to raise our standards - all to the benefit of our customers."
The external certification organisation DEKRA was commissioned to audit the work procedures and process. During the audit, spot checks and other validation steps showed that the work procedures and the sustainable processes of the complete life cycle of the Hess products fulfil the stringent certification requirements. Furthermore, it was audited to what extent the procedures and processes, that were assessed as requiring improvement in 2013, have been revised and improved.
In addition to the successful maintenance audit, the DEKRA representatives particularly praised the key performance indicators system, which for a medium-sized company of this size was considered exemplary. These key performance figures and indicators provide information about the organisational procedures and identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
Pierre van Lamsweerde, Managing Director of Hess and CEO of the Nordeon Group, is delighted with this interim result. "The successful maintenance audit shows that the highest quality and environmental management standards are implemented at Hess. We create energy-efficient lighting solutions that meet the diverse requirements of our customers. What is more, this regular certification motivates us to continue working hard to improve our procedures and the quality of our products."
Since December 2013, Hess is fully certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 /14001. This certification is valid for three years. Until the renewal of the certification, annual maintenance audits are carried out.
For Hess this maintenance audit joins several other successfully completed certifications for the year 2014: In May 2014, a recertification for poles, in accordance with DIN EN 40, took place. In June 2014, Hess laid the groundwork for shorter shipping times, for the international movement of goods, with the certification as a "Known Consignor" from the Federal Aviation Office .
