Heraeus spendet für japanische Mitarbeiter

Unternehmen wendet 10 Mio. Yen zur Unterstützung auf

Zur privaten Unterstützung der von der Naturkatastrophe in Japan betroffenen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter von Heraeus und ihren Familien hat das Unternehmen eine finanzielle Unterstützung in Höhe von insgesamt 10 Mio. Yen, das sind rund 85.000 EUR, bereitgestellt. Mit der Spende werden die Mitarbeiter am Standort in Koriyama, einem Joint Venture von Heraeus Quarzglas, unterstützt. Der Produktionsstandort wurde durch das Erdbeben am 11. März 2011 in Mitleidenschaft gezogen.

"Bereits zum Zeitpunkt der Katastrophe haben wir unseren japanischen Mitarbeitern sofortige Unterstützung zugesagt und umgesetzt", so Dr. Frank Heinricht, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung der Heraeus Holding GmbH. "Mit unserer Hilfe wollen wir einen kleinen Beitrag zur Rückkehr in die Normalität leisten."

Unabhängig davon wurden Reparaturen der Produktionsanlagen und der betroffenen Infrastruktur eingeleitet, so dass in den meisten Produktionsanlagen inzwischen wieder die Arbeit aufgenommen wurde.

Bei dem Erdbeben und dem daraus folgenden Tsunami im März 2011 in Japan wurden keine Heraeus Mitarbeiter oder direkten Angehörigen verletzt. Insgesamt arbeiten über 800 Mitarbeiter für Heraeus in Japan. In Japan betreibt Heraeus Vertrieb, Forschung und Produktion von Investitionsgütern in drei lokalen Tochterfirmen (Heraeus K.K., Heraeus Electro-Nite Japan Ltd., Heraeus Kulzer Japan Co., Ltd.) sowie in einem Joint-Venture-Unternehmen (Shin-Etsu Quartz Products Co., Ltd.)
