Lightweight CHG900 gas-powered cordless heat gun now available

HellermannTyton launches an all-new gas-powered hot air tool optimised to the portable requirements of professional maintenance engineers working where there is no access to an electric power supply.

(PresseBox) (Tornesch, )
Cable management specialist HellermannTyton announces availability of the professional gas-powered CHG900 Cordless Heat Gun.

The CHG900 is primarily designed for heat shrink applications in the field, but is also ideal for other industrial sealing, warming and wrapping processes wherever electric power is not readily available. The cordless tool produces instant heat from 190 °C up to 900 °C (520 W/1700 BTU of adjustable power).

Weighing only 555 g including a full P445 gas cartridge, the CHG900 is the lightest portable heat gun on the market. It delivers 90 minutes of reliable operation per cartridge, even down to temperatures as low as -8 °C. That gives electrical engineers more autonomous heat-shrinking capability than heat guns powered by rechargeable batteries.

"The CHG900 provides our customers working in remote locations with a long operating lifetime and peace of mind", says Christian Budde, Product Marketing Manager for insulation products at HellermannTyton.

"This portable tool is designed for ease of use and reliable performance under the toughest conditions. Gas cartridges and critical spare parts can be replaced in the field quickly without the need for any additional tools – the empty stainless steel cartridges are completely recyclable", explains Christian Budde.

Unlike the compact gas torches typically used for soldering and welding, the CHG900 does not generate an open flame and it can be rotated through 360 degrees without flaring.

An integrated standing pod frees up both hands for maximum control of the object being heated and it can be placed in a stable standing position for either horizontal or vertical heat streams. The CHG900 set includes two push-on nozzles for precise heat-shrinking results.

The product is available to purchase from electrical distributors.
