HAVER ROTO-PACKER® 50-year success story

50 years of quality, performance and reliability

(PresseBox) (Oelde, )
These days and weeks, everything at HAVER & BOECKER, its Wire Weaving Division, and its Machinery Division in Oelde, Germany is all about a unique machine: the HAVER ROTO-PACKER® - the renowned packing machine for filling cement, building material products and other freeflowing powder type materials.

The demand for higher packing and loading speeds at cement plants at the end of the 1950s was the impetus behind the development of the rotary packing machine that replaced the then established HAVER inline packers with up to 6 filling spouts. The impetus for the new technology came from the customer PHOENIX Zementwerke located in Beckum, Germany. Almost 50 years later, this loyal customer recently acquired the first ROTOCLASSIC®, the newest ROTO-PACKER generation, which has since become the frontrunner in the cement industry.

Back then the challenge for the designers was to think "round". Previously filling spouts had been arranged next to each other in a row. But this time they had to be arranged in a circular arc. The challenges were formidable. All the technical components had to be adapted to meet the needs of the new arrangement. The demands for precision increased enormously. But the HAVER employees mastered the challenges and optimized the packer over the five decades that followed. While the machine at first was purely mechanical, it took in electrical, pneumatic and electronic systems step by step as time went on. As a result, the ROTO-PACKER®

also led HAVER & BOECKER to become a leader in electronic weighing scales. Another milestone was automation. Applying valvebags manually was replaced by an automatic bag applicator, the RADIMAT®.

The ROTO-PACKER® is not only sold as a single machine. It is often the centrepiece of a plant's complex packing and dispatch system. A modular, expandable system has since evolved from the cement packing machine. From its worldwide continuous development, it has found its way into all industries that handle loose, bulk materials. It has made a name for itself in the industry through quality and reliability.

With its latest generation of machines: the HAVER ROTOCLASSIC® , HAVER & BOECKER offers its customers further possibilities to easily adapt to changing needs and requirements, and to do so in a way that saves energy, and it is environmentally and operationally friendly.

The ROTO-PACKER's 50year jubilee was celebrated within a close circle of employees and customers at the Machinery Division in Oelde, Germany.
