To ease often repeated work processes and studies, Haver & Boecker has developed various test instruments that the customer can also use for quality control in his own quality laboratories.
One of these test instruments is the HAVER Airflow Tester, which makes it possible to determine the air escape capabilities of an entire bag. The results of a bag’s air escape capability allows conclusions to be drawn on bag filling behaviour and machine filling speeds. This information allows customers to make a preliminary selection from the large range of available bags without having to undergo time consuming and costly filling, palletising and storage trials.
To cover the wide range of bag valve widths, the HAVER Airflow Tester has five different filling tubes available. By using an inflatable rubber sleeve, the bag valve is closed off tightly. Next the bag is pneumatically filled with a defined over-pressure of 50 mbar. The escaping volumetric flowrate [m³/hr] can be then quickly and easily determined. This is how bags with all types of paper and plastic layers and glued strips undergo testing.
The HAVER Airflow Tester is indeed a valuable aid in selecting the right packaging for packing bulk powder-type products for customers.
