This year's HAVER 2006 Innovation Prize has been awarded to the American company Laticrete. With this, Haver & Boecker, based in Oelde Germany, officially recognises the company's co-operation in the mutual development of clean, leak-proof and rupture-resistant packaging for the building materials industry. Laticrete will install the newly developed 4-spout BENJAMIN machines at several locations in various US states by the middle of May. The packing machines operate according to the HAVER ADAMS PROCESS, a machine technology that allows powder-type products to be filled into leak-proof plastic bags.
Laticrete, located in Bethany Connecticut, is a well-known trend setter and innovative producer of building materials. Founded in 1956, the company has developed a wide range of products for the building materials industry. Even beyond professional circles Laticrete became well known through its development of a thin layer mortar in the late 1950s, which due to its lightweight made it possible to build high-rises during the US Eisenhower era. This boldness in innovation, which at the time was not held in the highest regards, secured this American company's future and became the secret of its success.
