Before the official handover, Hubert Brormann, Director of the Haver & Boecker Technical Services Department, described how much work and effort were needed by Haver & Boecker, and the customers for each individual examination, e.g. separate documentation. Based on considering a simplification, a dissertation was even written on the subject, which was then followed by practical implementation. The advantages of a type-examination are obvious. First it means independence from notified bodies. It also means a simplified approach, which results in a real competitive advantage. Other advantages include standardised documentation, the use of a certified QA system as to Directive 94/9/EG with internal acceptance by an authorised person without having this performed by an accredited body for each machine, and machine conversions and modifications are now possible without involving the notified body.
This all means advantages for the customer. "We thank all persons involved, as without their help this achievement would not have been possible", emphasised Hubert Brormann.
Dr. Rainer Jockers, Director of the DEKRA EXAM GmbH certification office, introduced DEKRA, its areas of activity and functions and backed up his statements with figures, data and facts. Christian Simanski of the DEKRA EXAM department for explosion protection listed the machine series that no longer need the single examinations. Included in addition to the HAVER-INTEGRA are also the inline packing machines, ultrasonic bag closing units, the bag applicators and the bag guiding systems.
