Bamberg Energized - Experts Will Discuss the Implementation of Alternative Powertrain Concepts

(PresseBox) (Essen, )
Conference on Electric & Electronic Systems in Hybrid and Electric Vehicles and Electrical Energy Management in Bamberg on 6 and 7 May 2014 // Over 200 conference delegates expected

Electro-mobility is picking up speed - not only the driving range is increasing but also the acceptance by the population. Following the launch of the first electric and hybrid vehicles it is now important to gather practical experience to adjust new developments. Will energy efficiency targets be met? Will technological approaches prove their efficiency in the real world? What system will carry the day? Comprehensive research is undertaken to provide answers for many questions as yet unresolved. OEMs, suppliers and research institutions are working full steam ahead to develop new mobility concepts for the future.

Energy storage systems, power electronics and energy management are of vital importance for hybrid and electric powertrain concepts. Many existing approaches are being challenged; solutions that have proved their efficiency will see the light of the real world. It's all a matter of perspective. In order to achieve the global CO2 emission reduction targets we do not only need more all-electric and hybrid vehicles but also more plug-in hybrids and micro-hybrids with 48V on-board electrical systems. Thanks to their larger production numbers enhanced micro hybrids will make an important contribution to CO2 reductions in the short term. Only in the longer distant future, with the availability of more efficient energy storage systems, will all-electric vehicles appear in greater numbers. However, new drive system concepts and components are being developed now. This is the time for OEMs and suppliers to position themselves in an exciting market.

With EEHE, the conference on Electric & Electronic Systems in Hybrid and Electric Vehicles and Electrical Energy Management, Haus der Technik provides an opportunity for developers, users and researchers to speak with their peers and network effectively. We have expanded the programme to cover aspects of energy management and on-board power supply, electric and electronic systems in hybrid and electric vehicles and also engine start/stop systems. This is the place to meet all the important international players in the industry. Having screened a great number of submissions following the Call for Paper, the programme committee has put together an interesting array of conference papers, poster presentations and exhibition of vehicles.

The topics that will take centre state at our conference are: electric and electronic systems as well as E/E architectures for hybrid, plug-in-hybrid and electric vehicles, electric charging, electric energy management, power electronics, low-volt storage systems and battery management for electric energy storage systems, market development, highly-automated driving and model-based development.

The conference exhibition is the platform for well-known OEMs to present their electric and hybrid vehicles and to provide test vehicles for driving events.
