Press conference with trade journalists / Growing demands on employees

(PresseBox) (Espelkamp, )
The process of change being accelerated by Integrated Industry will significantly impact virtually all manufacturing enterprises - whether small businesses, mid-size companies or large corporations. This according to remarks made at a presentation for specialist press journalists by Philip Harting, Senior Vice President Connectivity & Networks and General Partner at HARTING.

"We're pioneers of technological change. We support our customers and offer them customized solutions for Integrated Industry," Harting continued. Consequently, HARTING's presence at Hannover Messe 2015 (13 - 17 April 2015, Hall 11, Stand C13) will be heavily focused on Integrated Industry.

HARTING develops and markets solutions for all levels within Integrated Industry. "HARTING's business focus, however, remains our innovative hardware solutions, which are made system-compatible in line with customer requirements," explains Uwe Gräff, Managing Director Marketing, Sales and R&D at HARTING Electric and Managing Director R&D at HARTING Electronics.

Dr. Frank Brode, Management Board Member for New Technologies, held a presentation detailing new technological developments on which the Espelkamp-based family-owned company is currently focusing its research. "We understand the internet of things and services in terms of the digitization of our products, their networking and the generation of new services based on this," Dr. Brode said. HARTING offers comprehensive simulation services designed to cut development times. "This lets us really offer our customers added value."

In his presentation, Claus Hilger, Managing Director HARTING IT Services, explained that HARTING offers solutions for Integrated Industry from a single source - from SAP all the way down to the machine. He also gave a sneak preview of the new Integrated Industry building block kit.

Dr. Jan Regtmeier, Product Manager RFID, demonstrated the many possibilities offered by RFID. Today, connectors and cable assemblies can easily be equipped with RFID transponders in order to link information and data from real-world production with the virtual world. "Integrated Industry will only be available from RFID and HARTING," stated Dr. Regtmeier confidently.

Torsten Ratzmann, HARTING Senior VP Production & Logistics, demonstrated the impact Integrated Industry will have on the production process and the human factor. "Work content in the future will also be characterized by significant complexity, customer individuality and irregular repeatability," Ratzmann said, adding that the demands placed on employees' topical, spatial and time-related flexibility would increase significantly. Companies today need to take these trends into account if they wish to continue to operate at peak performance - meaning top quality at competitive prices with lean and efficient processes - and remain viable going forward.

Guido Selhorst, Head of Market Management at HARTING Germany, rounded things out by providing a first glimpse of the activities planned for the upcoming Hannover Messe trade fair, as well as detailing additional communications and marketing efforts slated for 2015.
