Die Wind Power Shanghai hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, das führende Wind-Event in China zu werden. Die Kombination von Fachmesse und Fachkongress wird exklusiv vom Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), der Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) und der Chinese Wind Energy Association (CWEA) unterstützt. Die zweitägige Konferenz findet vom 31. Oktober bis 1. November (Sheraton Grand Tai Ping Yang Hotel Shanghai) statt. Am 1. November öffnet dann die Fachmesse gleichen Namens, auf der bis 3. November Hersteller und Zulieferer ihre neuesten Produkte präsentieren, im nahe gelegenen Messezentrum INTEX in Shanghai.
Die CREIA unterstützte bereits als einer der internationalen Partner die WindEnergy - International Trade Fair 2006 in Hamburg, die sich mit fast 50 Prozent an ausländischen Ausstellern als globale Plattform der Windbranche im Weltmarkt präsentierte. „Als internationaler Co-Organisator in Shanghai aufzutreten, ist nur die konsequente Weiterentwicklung unseres weltweiten Engagements“, betonte Peter Bergleiter, Projektleiter der WindEnergy bei der Hamburg Messe. „Durch die langjährige Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Hamburg und Shanghai sind außerdem wirtschaftliche Verbindungen gewachsen und Kompetenzfelder entstanden, die nun im Interesse der Branche zum Tragen kommen.“ China ist für die Windbranche wegen seiner hoch gesteckten Ziele von großem Interesse: Bis 2010 wird eine installierte Leistung von 4 Gigawatt angestrebt, bis 2020 sogar 30 GW, was China in Zukunft zum bedeutendsten Markt der Welt machen soll.
Die WindEnergy - International Trade Fair findet seit 2002 im 2-Jahres-Turnus am internationalen Messeplatz Hamburg statt. Die Fachmesse bildet die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette der Industrie ab und bietet Ausstellern und Fachbesuchern das optimale Forum zum Ausbau ihrer Aktivitäten im In- und Ausland.
