driveIT – Communication- and Procurement Platform for Automotive Software and Electronics with high categorisation

International Trade Fair and Conference for Automotive Software and Electronics from 4th November to 6th November 2008, in Stuttgart

(PresseBox) (Stuttgart, )
IT, electronics and electricity are included among the most important innovation fields for the development of automobiles – and with driveIT are being picked out as targeted branch-specific areas for the first time. Through this clear focus on the requirements of the automobile industry, the first International Congress and Exhibition for Automotive Software and Electronics is already being met with great interest – by providers and by users such as OEMs and tier 1 suppliers in science and research, as well as in politics. driveIT will be taking place between 4th – 6th November, 2008 at the Stuttgart (Germany) Exhibition Centre

The expansion of environmental protection, increasing safety and comfort needs as well as the growing need for mobility – these are just three of the trends that are playing a decisive role worldwide in the development of the future automobile. Solutions in each of these areas decidedly depend on innovations in electronics, electricity and information technology. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Conference and Exhibition driveIT, which has selected these three fields of innovations as targeted branch-specific areas for the first time, is awakening the interest of all participants.

The meeting point for providers, buyers, research and politics
“We are pleased to be able to greet not just leading providers such as Continental, IBM, Microsoft Automotive but also many others to our exhibition at the first driveIT. OEMs such as VW and AUDI as well as tier 1 suppliers, for example Bosch and ZF Lenksysteme, are likewise integrated into the Conference and Exhibition. The high automobile affinity of the exhibition location Stuttgart and the remarkable concentration of supplier companies from all automotive areas in this area certainly have a great influence on the exhibition“, stated Claus Hähnel, a managing director of the organiser H&K Messe GmbH. The participation of renowned research institutes such as FKFS (Stuttgart Research Institute for Motor Vehicles and Vehicle Engines), the Innovations Alliance for Automobile Electronics and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, are an additional indication that driveIT deals with technological, economic and socially significant issues.

A premier with innovative premiers
From the introduction of numerous innovative products, it is clear that the exhibitor sees driveIT from the outset as an important presentation and procurement platform. As an example of this, the aiT Worst-Case Execution Time Analyzer, will be present at the Absint Angewandte Informatik booth, among other solutions. This allows for the calculation of operating time restraints for real time systems With its FlexXCon Midget, Eberspächer Electronics will introduce a universal rapid prototyping controller device , which is equipped with a line of different automobile bus interfaces (FlexRay, CAN, LIN, MOST). With the new ASCET Version 6.0, ETAS will present a tool for the modelling of software components with AUTOSAR R2.1 conforming interfaces in the standard product. Development services for component development, system architecture and power supply, system integration and testing, vehicle integration, special applications, diagnostics, information and test systems, PLM solutions as well as IT-consultation will take centre stage in the Gigatronik presentation. IXXAT will offer FlexRay CCM tools for the analysis and restbus simulation with full FIBEX support, on the basis of a high performance PC interface for FlexRay and CAN. Linius Technologies will present the newly developed HarnessExpert software for the simple construction of 3D cable harnesses. TTTech Automotive will arrive at driveIT with a new CAN and FlexRay Gateway-tool for test-laboratory and automobile testing With the new CANcardXLe, Vector Informatik will introduce a bus interface with an ExpressCard Slot for notebooks that benefits controller devices and network developers, facilitating a flexible CAN and LIN connection via four independent channels.

driveIT Congress – Information and Communication
The driveIT Congress also offers a top-class programme that is carried out in collaboration with the technical newspapers ATZ and ATZelektronik from the publishing house Vieweg + Teubner Auto Medien, GMV Fachverlage GmbH. Technologies and strategies for fuel consumption and emission reduction for automobiles, security systems, product and process quality as well as forward-looking standardisations.come up for discussion In doing so, the driveIT Congress not only focuses on “What must be done?” - but even more on “How can it be implemented?” How can the enormous requirements of the future be solved? And “who” must work collaboratively with “whom” and in which way, in order to remain capable for the future? Moreover, the driveIT Congress institutionalizes, in contrast to other exhibitions, dialogue and discussion with experts in the form of ‚topic tables’.

Distinction for Best Practice Solutions – the driveIT Award
The driveIT Award is granted within the framework of the Conference and Exhibition. Exhibiting companies obtain this distinction for exemplary innovations. The jury is comprised of top class specialists for automotive software and electronics. Products and services are awarded in the categories “Function/Software”, “Sensors/Actuating Elements”, “Crosslinking” and “Tools”
