Web based calculation software eAssistant with new calculation modules for Bevel Gears, Involute Splines and Clamping Connections

The company GWJ Technology GmbH, headquatered in Braunschweig, Germany, introduces four new calculation modules of its web-based calculation software eAssistant. Since 2003, the eAssistant has continued to grow and enjoys considerable success on the market.
The eAssistant - the engineering assistant - provides various calculation modules (e.g., shafts, bearings, shaft-hub-connections, cylindrical gears, springs). Four new calculation modules now supplement the eAssistant. Within the modules for shaft-hub-connections, a new module for clamping connections is now available. Separated hubs as well as split hubs can be calculated easily and fast. Furthermore, a new module for involute splines according to DIN 5480 was developed. The module allows to select and calculate geometry of involute splines (including tolerances, accurate tooth form and test dimensions). A strength calculation is possible, too. The module also offers the ability to calculate other geometry standards according to individual definitions of geometry parameters.
In addition to the modules „Cylindrical gear pair“ and „Planetary gear train“, the eAssistant provides two new calculation modules for bevel gears - one module for the calculation of straight and helical bevel gears, the other module for the calculation of spiral bevel gears. The eAssistant allows the user to dimension and calculate the geometry of straight and helical bevel gears with differerent forms of tooth depth according to ISO 23509. For the load capacity, ISO 10300 is implemented.
The other module "Spiral bevel gears" enables the calculation of Klingelnberg´s cyclo-palloid bevel gears. The geometry calculation is based on ISO 23509 as well as Klingelnberg KN 3028, the load capacity is based on ISO 10300. Within the geometry calculation, the manufacturability is automatically checked. The module offers an easy way to find the right machine type. The user can also define individual machine parameters. During the input and selection of values, the user is supported by recommended value ranges as well as warnings and hints. Machines that are not suitable will automatically be highlighted on screen for an easy identification.
The new configuration manager can be used to create an individual documentation. General functions, like „Project information“ and „Report configuration“ support the user to describe or manage the documentation. This is especially useful for PDF reports.
