Four indices tradable in Germany for the first time / Country and strategy indices as benchmark

(PresseBox) (Frankfurt am Main, )
Deutsche Börse is further expanding its XTF segment for exchange-traded index funds (ETFs) on the pan-European Xetra trading platform and has admitted six new ETFs issued by Lyxor International Asset Management, a subsidiary of Société Générale, to trading.

Lyxor ETF MSCI EMU (ISIN: FR0007085501) tracks the MSCI EMU Index, an equity index that consists solely of stocks from the euro zone and that aims to cover 85 percent of the market capitalization of every country and every industrial sector in the euro zone.

Lyxor ETFs MSCI Malaysia (ISIN: FR0010397554), MSCI Taiwan (ISIN:FR0010444786)and MSCI Thailand (ISIN: FR0010398719) are comprised solely of stocks from the respective country and track the performance of the MSCI Malaysia, MSCI Thailand and the MSCI Taiwan indices. The objective of the indices is to represent 85 percent of the stock market value of all economic sectors in the respective markets. They also reflect the economic variety of these markets.

Lyxor ETF Pan Africa (ISIN: FR0010636464) tracks the performance of the SGI Pan Africa Index. This index comprises stocks from companies that are either listed on African exchanges or else conduct the majority of their business on the African continent.

Lyxor ETF Short Strategy Europe (ISIN: FR0010589101) tracks the performance of the SGI Europe Short Strategy Index. This strategy index is exposed to the inverse development of the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index. The Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index is comprised of 600 stocks from 18 European countries.

These new Lyxor ETFs on Xetra mean that four indices are now tradable in Germany for the first time: the MSCI Thailand, the MSCI Malaysia, the SGI Pan Africa and the SGI Europe Short Strategy Index.

The product offering on Xetra in the XTF segment currently comprises a total of 363 exchange-traded index funds, making it the largest offering of all European stock exchanges. This selection, together with an average monthly trading volume of over €9 billion, makes Deutsche Börse's XTF segment Europe's leading trading venue for ETFs. The following ETF families are currently tradable in the XTF segment: ComStage, db x-trackers, EasyETF, ETFlab, iShares, Lyxor, Market Access, PowerShares, SGAM, UBS Exchange Traded Funds and Xmtch.
