Meist heißt es dazu, die moderne Hocheffizienzpumpe spare im Vergleich zu Alt-Pumpen einen Großteil der benötigten Antriebsleistung ein im Fall der Alpha2 von Grundfos sind das beispielsweise etwa 80 %. Was bei der Betrachtung einer Einzelpumpe im allgemeinen untergeht, ist die Dimension der Einsparungen bezogen auf die Gesamtzahl der ausgetauschten Pumpen, vor allem auch im Hinblick auf die vermiedene Emission des Klimakillers Kohlendioxid (CO2).
Am Beispiel der Hocheffizienz-Umwälzpumpe Alpha2 lautet das Ergebnis: Seit Verkaufsfreigabe 2007 wurden konzernweit knapp 2 Millionen Pumpen produziert und installiert. Dies bedeutet eine Gesamt-Energieeinsparung von 1.920.000 MWh und eine Gesamt-CO2-Einsparung von 1.152.000 Tonnen Kohlendioxid (s. Tabelle). Es ist also mehr als beeindruckend, was eine unscheinbare kleine Heizungsumwälzpumpe als aktiver Klimaschützer zu leisten vermag!
Ausgangsbasis der Berechnung:
1 kWh konventionell erzeugter Strom emittiert 0,6 kg CO2 durchschnittliche Betriebsstunden einer Heizungsumwälzpumpe nach dem Standardbelastungsprofil: 6000 h/a durchschnittliche Leistungsaufnahme einer alten Standard-Heizungsumwälzpumpe gleicher hydraulischer Leistung: 0,1 kW durchschnittliche Energieeinsparung bei Einsatz einer Hocheffizienzpumpe Alpha2: 80 % konzernweit verkaufte Alpha2-Pumpen: rund 2.000.000 Pumpen (ca. 666.666 pro Jahr).
Die Rechnung lautet demnach:
CO2-Emission je Standard-Heizungsumwälzpumpe:
0,1 kW x 6000 h/a x 0,6 kg CO2 / kWh= 360 kg CO2 / a
CO2-Emissions-Einsparung je installierter Alpha2-Pumpe:
[0,1 kW x 0,8] x 6000 h/a x 0,6 kg CO2 / kWh= 288 kg CO2 / a
Seit Verkaufsfreigabe haben pro Jahr 666.666 Alpha2 eine Standard-Heizungsumwälzpumpe ersetzt – das spart Jahr für Jahr Energie ein und mindert die Kohlendioxid-Emission:
