From April 1 to 4, 2025, GROB-WERKE will once again open its doors and present the GMP300, the latest generation of machines for additive manufacturing, at its annual in-house exhibition. Visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to experience the innovative technology live and talk to experts about the wide range of possible applications.

GROB Metal Printing: Efficiency redefined

GROB is setting new standards in the manufacture of particle foam tools with its Metal Printing Process (GMP) in a recently launched collaboration with Siegfried Hofmann GmbH. Thanks to GMP technology, aluminum tools are produced within a few days - a decisive advantage for industries with high time and cost pressure.

"With GROB Metal Printing, we have developed a unique wire-based 3D printing process that enables the flexible and cost-effective manufacturer of aluminum components with excellent material properties," explains Christoph de Pay, Product Manager Additive Manufacturing at GROB.

Live demonstration: Experience the GMP300 in action

In the "foaming tools" application, the GMP300 processes wire into partially permeable components that are ready for use with minimal post-processing.

This enables optimum vaporization, venting and homogeneous filling of the tools. The high number of steam nozzles also ensures shorter cycle times thanks to faster heating and cooling processes. "Our GMP300 can print individual parts or small series directly from the converted CAD model with little preparation and post-processing time, and the required software is included. This makes GROB Metal Printing not only a safe alternative to other additive processes, but also to milling, as programming time is saved and only as much material is dispensed as is required for the components in a resource-efficient manner," adds de Pay.

Application examples from practice

An impressive example of the performance of the GMP300 technology is the production of an assembly of aluminum parts that were required for an automated production line. "Our customer was able to print the parts extremely quickly with the GMP300 and thus resume production without long downtimes," says de Pay.

The second generation of the GMP300 also impresses with an optimized sealing concept, real-time monitoring of droplet formation and an improved shielding gas concept for even higher component quality. A second wire feed system also enables faster material changes and ensures greater flexibility in production.

Interested trade visitors are cordially invited to experience the GMP300 live in action. GROB's experts will be available for individual discussions and will present further exciting applications from the industry.
