For Grenzebach, the casting industry is a strategically important growth segment. The company owns shares in CHR Changjian Huaxin Robot Parts Nantong Co. Ltd., a company that produces casting parts specifically for robots in their new foundry in Nantong (province Jiangsu). Achieving that next level of automation and the factory of the future, the use of robots continues to grow throughout all industry sectors.

Partner for renowned manufacturers

“With our investment in this impressive foundry in Nantong, we are able to strengthen our position as a partner for internationally operating and innovative robot manufacturers”, says Renato Luck, CEO Grenzebach Group. Under the wing of Xudong Gong the foundry in the province of Jiangsu employs a staff of 80 people. Up to 40,000 tons of cast iron parts for robots can be produced annually, core of the system is an automated line with a box size of 2,000 x 1,100 x 450 millimeters. Many renowned companies within the robotics and automation industry buy the casting parts from Nantong. During the official opening in December robot manufacturers, representatives from politics and authorities were invited.

Broad portfolio for the automation industry

For many years now Grenzebach has been working with customers within the automation industry which profit from the vast experience with casting processes, machining, surface treatment and quality control. “The Grenzebach Supply Chain has access to all kinds of different casting parts. Our engagement with CHR supports our goal to satisfy all customer wishes”, emphasizes Thomas Liu, Casting Manager at Grenzebach.
