Mit der Akquisition plant TAI, selbst einer der großen Zulieferer der Branchenführer Boeing und Airbus, die Entwicklung und Herstellung komplexerer und größerer Baugruppen und damit die eigene Integration in die europäische Luftfahrtindustrie weiter voranzutreiben.. Das neue Unternehmen in Deutschland wird TAI u.a. als Hub am strategisch wichtigen Flugzeugproduktionsstandort Hamburg dienen.
Für TAI ist es die erste internationale Akquisition und damit zugleich der erfolgreiche Start zur Umsetzung der kürzlich verabschiedeten globalen Wachstumsstrategie.
Grunewald Stade ist ein mittelständischer Hersteller von Flugzeugteilen insb. für Mittel- und Langstreckenflugzeuge von Airbus (A 320, A 330 und A 340). Die Grunewald-Gruppe wird auch weiterhin für den Werkzeug- und Formenbau produzieren sowie metallische Bauteile und Kunststoffkomponenten entwickeln. Neben dem Stammhaus in Bocholt unterhält Grunewald nach der Veräußerung noch Produktionsstandorte in Kirchlengern und Irxleben.
TAI und die Grunewald-Gruppe werden ihre bisherige Kooperation auch nach der Übernahme weiter fortsetzen. Über den Kaufpreis der Transaktion wurde Stillschweigen vereinbart.
