GNS TC6000 - The most cost-effective all-in-one-navigation module in one of the world's smallest form factor

(PresseBox) (Würselen, )
The latest TC6000 combo module from GNS GmbH sets new standards in navigation devices with its array of wireless functions at a low price. GPS, BT and TMC/FM receiver or FM transmitter are combined on a module with the tiny dimensions of just 10mm x 9.2 mm x 2.3 mm. The TC6000 is one of the smallest allinone navigation modules of the world. This variety of functions makes the TC6000 a true allround solution for navigation applications.

Global Navigation Systems - GNS GmbH presents its latest traffic module, the TC6000. The new generation combines four integrated wireless functions: GPS, BT, and optionally TMC/FM reception or FM transmission. Manufacturers of portable navigation systems benefit from an innovative and compact allinone solution that provides essential functions in a minimum of space at an unbeatable price.

Bernd Bierwisch, CEO and cofounder of GNS, says: "We developed the TC6000 combo module to help OEMs/ODMs in their efforts to save costs and space. The module is easy to implement, it offers considerable cost advantages, and it saves time during development and assembly. The TC6000 represents a milestone in quality, efficiency and cost savings. It provides a fast and costeffective path to market for our customers."

The TC6000 has a very low power consumption and it works with just 1.8 volts without any impairment of the performance. Data is transferred via a highspeed UART with data rates up to 4 Mbps. GNS additionally supplies free Windows CE drivers fro GPS, TMC, BT and FM. Thirdparty suppliers support the BT functions with BT software and echo cancellation. Furthermore, the TC6000 features smart fixTM technology which greatly reduces the TTFF time.

Developer kits and sample quantities of the TC6000 combo module are available at GNS GmbH from mid-May 2010.
