A visual and intuitively operable administration tool for large installations of professional VoIP telephones is in the focus of professional users of Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) telephones. A novel software from Global IP Telecommunications enables for remote administration of telephones with a few mouse clicks via web-based management user interface. In this context it doesn’t make any difference if 20, 100 or 10.000 telephones are administered simultaneosly. In contrast to today's common procedure, the manual configuration of each device or configuration via script ceases to be applied.
For the first time ever is the entire functionality of a telephone accessible to the IT administrator. Specific functions and features of a telephone can be enabled or disabled individually. Users are allocated to groups and base categories. This enables for relation and merging of different telephone switchboards (PBX) and even for authentication of users without being assigned to a specific PBX. Employees can thus be authenticated via custom login using their user name and password, via IP addresses of their laptops, their workgroup or domain. Based on this information their telephones receive VoIP account data, their extension number and all their telephone features.
