60 percent of exhibition space at the 4th GeoTHERM taking place on the 25th and 26th of February 2010 in Offenburg is already allocated seven months prior to the start. The congress with trade fair in Offenburg sets out to offer the biggest geothermal event in Europe in 2010. With its combination of congress and trade fair, including top-flight partners from politics, business and science, GeoTHERM has its finger precisely on the pulse of one of the leading future technologies.
In 2009, 112 exhibitors from 7 nations succeeded in establishing valuable contact with over 2,600 trade visitors. Interest in GeoTHERM has since grown steadily and policy-makers are also increasing their focus on geothermal energy. According to the report of 13 May 2009 from the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety: "By 2020, around 280 megawatts of power should be installed in Germany from deep geothermal power plants with annual generation of 1.8 billion kilowatt hours of electricity and 8.2 billion kilowatt hours of heat.
