Speziell für empfindliche Lebensmittel eignen sich die neuen, direktangetriebenen Spiralfroster und -kühler der GEA A-Tec- und GEA E-Tec-Serie.
Ganz neu ist der Direktantrieb für die Spiralfroster bzw. Spiralkühlanlagen GEA A-Tec und GEA E-Tec. Der Direktantrieb ist bestens geeignet, wenn empfindliche Waren verarbeitet werden sollen. Er basiert auf dem Intralox Direct-Drive System, das ein mit der Antriebstrommel verzahntes Acetal-Förderbänder verwendet. Davon profitieren insbesondere die Hersteller von frittierten oder zuckerglasierten Produkten: Bei Low-Tension-Frostern könnte herabtropfendes Fett oder Zucker die Reibung zwischen Antriebstrommel und Förderband herabsetzen. Dies kann zu Ruckeln führen. Dem Direktantrieb ist dieser Effekt fremd, so dass sich das Transportband dank des kontinuierlichen Antriebs gleichmäßig bewegt und die Ware beim Kühlen oder Gefrieren ruhig auf dem Band liegen bleibt. So entstehen keine Deformationen aufgrund einer Lageveränderung.
