For the first time, IT spending in 2007 will reach $3.1 trillion, buoyed by corporate and consumer spending. However, the market will slow down next year to a growth of 5.5 per cent and will see the impact of economic uncertainty. In addition, IT is moving East and South, with one third of IT spending happening in the developing economies.
Peter Sondergaard, senior vice-president and head of global research at Gartner will lead this press briefing and discuss:
- In the wake of a declared 2008 business downturn, what will CEOs have to do to respond to change?
- What is the role of IT in times of change? What will be the challenges CIOs face? What should their focus be on?
- If IT is moving East and South, what opportunity will this development create for European companies?
