Toshiba Teli now offers robust cameras with high image quality and superior cost-effectiveness featuring a Gigabit Ethernet interface. The GiantDragon series cameras are available with monochrome and colour progressive scan CCDs and resolutions ranging from 640 × 480 pixels (at 90 fps) to 1600 × 1200 pixels (at 15 fps). The GiantDragon cameras come in compact, RoHS compliant bodies measuring 44 × 29 × 70mm (W × H × D).
Using its internal processing capabilities, the GiantDragon transmits complete images or selectable image regions of interest in compressed RGB (24 bit), YUV 4:2:2 (16 bit), or YUV 4:1:1 (12 bit) format. In addition, the output via the camera s fast Gigabit Ethernet interface can also take the form of a maximum quality, uncompressed raw file (8 or 10 bit).
The GiantDragon models support transmissions following the GigE Vision(TM) / GenICam(TM) interface standard for control and configuration. Network cables with lengths of up to 100m (Cat5e or Cat6) can be used for data transmissions via the standard Gigabit Ethernet interface. This makes the GiantDragon series high-speed cameras highly suitable for flexible and simple integration into industrial applications such as object recognition or component inspection as well as for medical and scientific applications.
